Explanation of Ranks
1 Elite (Promotion at > 750000 points) | The Elite are at the top of the alliance. They have the most points and are very influential members |
2 Golden Eagle (Promotion at > 625000 points) | The Golden Eagles are the second highest rank and the highest rank of the Legion |
3 Silver Star (Promotion at > 500000 points) | The Silver Stars are the third highest rank and the second highest rank of the Legion |
4 Bronze Sword (Promotion at > 400000 points) | The Bronze Swords are the fourth highest rank and the second Legion rank |
5 Iron Baton (Promotion at > 325000 points) | The Iron Batons are the first rank of the Legion. Their large number of points is a testament to the longevity of the alliance and their determination |
6 Lieutenant General (Promotion at > 200000 points) | Lieutenant General is the highest rank of the Army |
7 Major General (Promotion at > 150000 points) | Major General is the second General rank and second highest in the army. Major Generals are eligible for the roles of Admiral and Deputy Leader |
8 Brigadier General (Promotion at > 90000 points) | Brigadier General is the first General rank and third highest rank in the Army |
9 Colonel (Promotion at > 60000 points) | Colonel is the last Officers rank and the fourth highest rank in the Army. You now stand on the brink of General-hood; a pretty big accomplishment |
10 Lieutenant Colonel (Promotion at > 50000 points) | Lieutenant Colonel is the second Officers rank and is the fifth highest rank in the Army |
11 Major (Promotion at > 40000 points) | Major is the first Officers rank. Majors are eligible for the roles of Diplomat and Security Officer |
12 Lieutenant (Promotion at > 32000 points) | Lieutenants are determined players who have endured a lot already. Lieutenants are semi-experienced and can probably answer most questions |
13 Sergeant Major (Promotion at > 24000 points) | Sergeant Major is the second rank of the Army. Sergeant Majors are eligible for the role of Recruitment Officer |
14 Sergeant (Promotion at > 12000 points) | Sergeants are expected to be able to defend themselves in minor skirmishes |
15 Corporal (Promotion at > 6000 points) | Corporals are at the top of the Training Corp and are at the brink of entering the Army |
16 Specialist (Promotion at > 3000 points) | Specialists are still new to the game, but they've managed to pass the first test: getting past the pokey growth of the early days |
17 Private (Promotion at > 1500 points) | Privates have managed to shake the noob status of Recruit, but the climb has just begun. |
18 Recruit (Promotion at > 500 points) | Recruits are new to Ikariam and should seek assistance from higher ranking players |

Just a Few More Notes
The ranks are all based on the army which is why you will see some of the ranks described as "highest in the Army." Do not be confused and think that the alliance is a great war machine. That is not the case.
The ranks are grouped in the following classes:
the Elite
Legionnaires
Generals
Officers
the Army
Training Corps
While "the Army" is a class, it is also used in the chart to refer to all groups except the Legionnaires and the Elite.
Note that the roles of Diplomat, Security Officer, Admiral, Recruitment Officer, and Deputy Leader all have rank requirements. This is simply to insure that people in these positions are experienced enough and know enough about the game to fulfill these roles' obligations properly. Leader and Home Secretary aren't mentioned because they are already filled positions that are unlikely to have any vacancies. The General of the Army ('General' in game) really should only be filled by Generals, but the assignment of that position is at the Leader's discretion and can so the people who fill it may not have reached General positions yet.
