RTS gamers

Post  Guest on Wed May 11, 2011 6:49 am

Hi everyone,

This isn't really Ikariam related, but if you love Ikariam and RTS games in general, there's a new game which I have been alpha-testing the last few months which is due to go beta in the next few weeks. It's called Elarien and is like a speeded up Ikariam. I'll let you know when it goes beta if anyone wants to try it out. If we all get on that and establish an alliance early we could dominate it as I'm in the top 5 players on the alpha test.

I like RTS games. But I don't buy them, so I don't have the originals. Still, there are some very good programs out there that allow you to play cracked games online, namely:

  • Tunngle (Number one)
  • Gameranger(Supports a lot of RTS games, actually clicks and sets up everything for you automatically)
  • Hamachi
  • Xfire(Namely for finding cracked servers and chat ingame)

These programs mostly achieve this by emulating a LAN network over the internet, called VPN. There hasn't been a single cracked game I haven't been able to play online with tunngle.

Multiplayer games I like:
(RTS):
  • Command and conquer 3
  • Red alert 2
  • Age of Empires 2
  • Empire Earth 3
  • Starcraft (Going to download sometime)

FPS (I only can play these when the internet isn't too bad...):

  • Call of duty 2/4
  • System Shock (Awesome co-op.)
  • Halflife 2 with Synergy mod
  • Counter strike source
  • Counter strike 1.6 (This is hardcore, not recommended for mortals)
  • Quake 3/4
  • Killing floor
  • Left 4 Dead 1/2
  • Minecraft (Not exactly fps, but close. Creative building. Zombie survival.)

Hey, you ever heard of portable games? All of those games on the list, I can run without installing anything, hell, without even copying anything to the hard-drive. I can run them directly from my pendrive. It's surprising how many people don't know about this trick. Just copy the "program files\game" folder to your pen drive. As I said, all the games on that list work perfectly fine without the registry entries. Don't say it doesn't work before trying it.

I've thought of doing that before, but I don't own a pendrive big enough...at least big enough for anything I want to play.

or instead of copy/paste you can just install it onto the pendrive
sc2 and minecraft xD gladly play with anyone

was admin on a minecraft server but it shut down recently as the owner is going to college and there were alot of griefs and now many of the admins/moderators were doing anything to fix it so it was all left to him
so yeah looking for a new one ive found 3 that seem okay, but ill gladly try and servers you suggest

sc2 i dont play 1v1 much but i think the last season i played was season 2 and i was silver if im not mistaken

i have a 2v2 partner (but due to my recent internet problems cant play recently) and we are usually placed silver gold or plat

3v3 i think ive always been plat
4v4 im gold

my random 2v2 placement match for the season my random partner decided to leave instantly.... and then both of them 6 pooled me.... so i got put in bronze.... i dont think ive been in bronze since the beta..... twas a sad day....

i find it funny that i registered here when i joined XIP a week or so ago and yet im still the newest registered on the forum Dx

Yeah, that's one of the few things that frustrates me about the alliance. There are 62 members and only 38 of them are registered. Of the 38 registered, only 9 have logged in this year, an additional 24 have logged in since registering leaving 5 members who registered but haven't bothered to log in. In addition, I think maybe 6 currently registered members aren't part of this alliance anymore.
